When making my interactive video I thought that working with Amir was good because I thought I knew what I thought would look good visually but when it came to filming he got different shot of me whereas the shot that I put on my script was basically mid shots of me and being a creative person Amir got mid shots of me but in different positions from behind me to looking down on me. I thought my location was good because it showed my personality. The location where I shot my interactive video was in a park, I think it showed my personality because it was a calm area which also could be loud and fun where I could mess about. I used a hand held camera to shot because using a tripod I wouldn’t be able to get some of the shots likes the tracking shot and the above looking down shot.

when I was editing my interactive video I thought I t was a bit difficult trying to make all the footage with go together like making each shot run smoothly but as I got into it I experimented more with speeding up some of my shots and slowing them down. In my scripted I did say I was going to add montages of photos but when I got to editing I couldn’t get my photos on to the computer so I had to re think how to make my video interesting and show my personality. I used sound effect which was crickets which made my video funny and I used music by Tinie Tempa which played throughout my video profile. Overall I definitely think the editing process improved my video profile.

The aspect that I am most pleased about is my blog I liked how it made work seem fun and not like all the typical assignments we had because all we had to do was upload everything on the blog and not submit to a teacher. I thought the blog was a way to put our own stamp on the work like we could have whatever background we wanted which would show our personality and creativity at the same time.
I showed my video profile to my family and the feedback I received was ok, they said that I should have been more natural instead reading off a script but they liked how it was put together and how I speeded up some of my footage, also they said I could have put pictures of me spending time with my friends and family just to make it look interesting. The feedback I got I felt was positive but also helped me with what I could have done better next time.

The aspect of the video production that I’m not so happy about is that I didn’t get to visually make my video profile how I planned to make it because the images I wanted put on it I couldn’t because of the phone the pictures were on, also when I was filming I kept looking down at my script because I kept forgetting what to say, which made my editing difficult.

I think I could have planned more given more time and maybe had a backup of photographs which would have been easier to put on the computer I was editing on. I think even though I had the script I think I could have improvised more to make it seem more natural and so you could really see the more me.

Picture
Hey I am Reah.
(Music starts)
Start with a close up of my eye which the zooms out to reveal a wide shot of me.
I’m from London.
Montages of shots of sites from London like London eye o2 centre big Ben.
I’m passionate about what I want to be which is a director.
Mid shot of me with a camera.
In 10 years time I would want to be directing either music videos or films, but for now I work in retail and have been for 4 years.
Wide shot of me thinking then me going into work and then a motage of pictures of music video and films
When I was younger I always wanted to be a vet I use to love animals but then as I grew older I started to grow fear with fishes and cats. (LAUGH)

I started to grow my passion for media when I did a course in journalism and photography and thought that it was fun, that’s when I started to pay attention to the media like watching how music videos and films are made.
Mid shot of me which then cuts to a vet and then cuts to a pictures of fishes and cats. Then cuts back to me in wide shot.
Right now I am studying media studies TV and film at city of Westminster college, I chose to do this course because I knew it would teach me more about the media industry and give me a hands on approach to the media industry like using cameras and learn about the different roles that are used.
Close up of me in college filming my work then cut back to a mid shot of me talking
In my spare time, which I hardly get because of work and college I like to hang out with my friends and go to places like the cinema and to bars, I also like to spend quality time with my family.
Shots of me with my friends hanging together which cuts to pictures of my friend and family memories
I like to listen to music, I listen to RnB Hip Hop, Funky house, Dubstep a few pop n rock music (laugh)
(different genre of music starts to play cuting from each song)

I’m quite versatile when It comes to music as long as it has a good beat or the chorus is catchy I don’t mind it.
Mid shot of me which then cuts into a wide shot.
(Music changes back)
I like media I like music I like to spend
time with family and friends.. so  hopefully you will be seeing more of me and my work  in the future
Close up with pans out of my smiling in the camera

Essay Interactive Video

Interactive video is a technique that blends interaction and film and video together. Interactive video has different platforms these platforms are where you can watch these videos; you can watch interactive videos on:
·         Computers
·         TV
·         MP4 Players
·         Internet
·         Mobile phones

I will be analysing viral marketing which is going to be a trailer for the new movie Xmen first class and virtual tours which is going to be a university tour of the new accommodation in Bedfordshire University.

Viral marketing is when a company wants to increase awareness to a brand like to advertise the brand; the aim of viral marketing is to appeal to individuals with social networking, i will be analysing a movie trailer because the purpose of a movie trailer is to advertise and attract people to come see the movie, which is what viral marketing is about.

In the trailer it starts off by showing Charles who is known as professor x as just his wheel chair because Charles had died in the previous Xmen, then it shows him using his powers before he died. The wheel is a representative of Charles it then cuts to who Charles was when he was younger. The trailer does the same thing with Erik known as magneto it shows who is now and him using his powers then cuts to when he was younger and known as Erik. Doing this in the trailer makes us have a brief understanding of what the movie is about and who these characters are. The trailer then goes back to when Charles and Erik were younger and gives us briefly what the movie is going to be about but without revealing too much information but at the same time it introduces us to other characters and shows us what these characters are capable of doing with their powers.

In this trailer it uses music, the music sounds like it is builds suspense in and exciting way the soundtrack for this trailer is called half the man by threshold, threshold is a heavy metal band. Heavy metal music builds anxiety when u listen to which it does in the trailer, it makes you want to go watch it because you are in suspense and you want to go see what happens in the film. I think that the music in the trailer goes well together because it is an action film and with action you feel anxiety. Instead of using a voice over, the film uses a bit of text to tell the story it also uses a news reporter that is actually in the film to give you a sneak preview of what the story is about. In this trailer it does not have any dialogue from any of the characters in the movie, which makes you go watch the film because in other trailers they will use a favourite quote in the movie to advertise it but in this one they give nothing away.

The video platform that I saw this trailer on was a computer using the internet the technical aspects of the trailer was that the frame rates where good and consistent because sometimes when you do watch videos off the internet the connection may be bad and the frame rates are not consistent which makes the video freeze up. But if you was to watch it on TV which is another platform for interactive video it wouldn’t freeze up and your frame rates would be consistent.

My next video that I’m going to be analysing is virtual tours. Virtual tours is a simulation of an existing location, it is composed with sequences of video images to create a real life effect. I will be analysing a virtual tour taken from Bedfordshire University.
In this video it shows us graphic of different shapes and then it shows a tour of the new Bedfordshire accommodation going through each room but still keeping the graphics up of the different shapes and splitting the screen with the tour in two different corners. In the video there is not speech just music throughout.

In this video it enhances the users experience when watching by using music and graphics because I think if they didn’t use music and used speech instead I think it wouldn’t keep people’s attention and I think the speech would have bored people because what  would they have spoken about? How and when the building was built? I think the vision speaks for itself. I also think that the graphics gives it its trademark but seeing those colours and graphic will make u remember Bedfordshire’s new accommodation.

I have evaluated two interactive videos with one being viral marketing and the other being virtual tours, they both are good interactive videos and similar in their own way in the sense that they want to sell to the public. Viral marketing want to attract people to come see the movie by making a trailer, and virtual tours want to attract people to come see, and hopefully stay in their new accommodation. But I think that viral marketing will be more successful because it attracts more people by advertising on the internet on TV and also on bill boards and posters, when you can only see a virtual tour on the internet.

I think this genre of video has reached its peak, you can advertise viral marketing in any form whether it is in a magazine or on the internet there isn’t any where it could be advertise.
